Caesar Barare is a foundational pillar of the radiography profession in the region and a co-founder of the Radiographers Scientific Conference (RASCO), having helped establish the inaugural event in 2004. He is a leading radiography educator, medical imaging, and radiation therapy professional with over three decades of comprehensive experience. Currently lecturing at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) and previously at the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC), Caesar has spent over 30 years shaping clinical practice at Kenyatta National Hospital.
His clinical and academic expertise spans diagnostic radiography and specialized radiotherapy services, with a deep focus on radiotherapy treatment delivery, medical dosimetry, and the advancement of healthcare workforce training frameworks. Throughout his career, he has facilitated critical international collaborations, including hosting teams from Stanford University to enhance training and service quality.
A highly respected leader in the African radiological community, Caesar is the past Honorary Secretary and former President of the Society of Radiography in Kenya (SORK). He also made significant global contributions as the founding Regional Director for Africa for the International Society of Radiographers and Radiological Technologists (ISRRT).
Currently, he serves as the Convener of the Professional Ethics, Integrity and Legal Affairs Committee (PEILAC) at SORK, promoting high governance standards, collaborative research, and clinical innovation across the continent.
Within RASCO 2026, Caesar leverages his deep multi-discipline background, academic experience across Kenya’s premier institutions, and historic legacy as a founding member to help steer the Central Committee and shape the conference’s overarching direction.
