The RASCO 2023 CONFERENCE

The society of Radiography in Kenya proudly present to you Radiographers Scientific conference 2023(RASCO)Since its inception in the year 2004, the conference has provided the impetus for phenomenon growth within the profession.

RASCO 2023 will be held over three days featuring the presentation of topics related to radiography practice in Kenya and elsewhere in the world. The conference will also include poster presentations in addition to will be an exhibition showcasing the latest advances, products, and services related to radiography technology, practice, and education. Participants will havethe opportunity to present their research findings, share experiences, and participate in interactive workshops.

RASCO 2023 will adopt a hybrid approach that includes both virtual and in-person attendance. The virtual attendance option will ensure maximum participation from delegates who maynot beable to travel to the conference venue. The conference will comprise keynote speeches, plenaryand parallel sessions, panel discussions, presentations, and poster sessions. The sessions will beinteractive and provide an opportunity for participants to engage in discussions and knowledge-sharing.

Abstract submission Guidelines

1.The paper must be prepared in Microsoft Word document and saved in a compatible current version.
2. The title be in bold, left aligned, in capital letters, at the top of the page and in Arial font 14.
3. On the second line be the author’s name(s) (with the presenting author in bold and underlined if
more than one) and in Aerial font 12.
4. On the third line be the author(s)’ institution(s) of affiliation(s) and in Aerial font 12.
5. The body of the abstract be in single line spacing, justified and in aerial font 10.
6. It should not exceed 300 words including the title and the author(s).
7. It should not include any sub-titles, tables or graphs.
8. Abstracts may be submitted electronically only via abstracts@sork.or.ke

Methodology and Sustainability /RASCO 2023

The conference will also incorporate networking sessions, where participants can interact andexchange ideas. The conference proceedings will be published in a peer-reviewed journal. Keynote speeches will be delivered by experts and speakers will be drawn fromacademia, industry, government, and different parts of the world and will be experts in the fieldofradiography, who will provide insights on the conference theme. Some workshops will be hands-on training sessions that will provide attendees with practical skills and knowledge in radiography practice. The plenary sessions will focus on the different sub-themes of the conference while panel discussions will be interactive and provide an opportunity for participants to share their experiences and insights. The breakout sessions will provide a platform for in-depth discussions on specific topics related to radiography.

The pre-conference activity on strategic purchasing and payment methods of radiographyservices will provide a platform for policymakers and stakeholders to discuss ways of improvingaffordable and efficient access to radiography services. Sustainability will be through partnerships of radiographers with relevant organizations andstakeholders in Kenya and the rest of the world. Additionally, the conference will promotetheuse of sustainable practices, such as digital technology and eco-friendly materials, to reducethecarbon footprint and minimize its environmental impact such as reducing paper wasteand

The conference will also engage with local communitiesand promote social responsibility initiatives that support environmental conservation, health, andwell-being. An outcome document will be drafted by conference rapporteurs under the leadershipof theconference chair and submitted for global consultations leading up to and during the conference. The document will be presented at the closing plenary for adoption.

Expertise and Operational Capacity / RASCO 2023

The conference will be run by a team of experienced professionals in radiography and event management who have organized similar conferences in the past. SORK also has a network of partners and stakeholders who will provide technical support and expertise in organizing the conference. For instance, the conference’s central and scientific committees will comprise experts in radiography, policymakers, and researchers supported by an able local organizing committee

The conference will also leverage the expertise of renowned radiography professionals from around the world who will be invited to participate as speakers and panelists. Whilst operational capacity will be ensured by the conference venue, the Diani Reef Beach and Spa Hotel, which has a track record of organizing successful events.
